Perhaps I preferred canvas to my face,
Perhaps the smooth texture
Well-blended in the prints of my fingers,
Like it did on the rough paper sheets
The lightening of the colorful hues perhaps
Enthralled my unlimited vision
Rather defining my less than half-an-inch eye lid
Perhaps colors meant to unveil the liveliness,
Not to conceal the imperfect blemishes
It perhaps counted on the canvas,
To restore its faded hues
Brushing away the blues!
But not to encircle the line of your lip
If only colors were blended,
To resurrect the artistry of life
Like the shade under the halo,
The dark circles would have regaled your eyes
Like the rainbow coloring the sky
Or stars humming a lullaby,
Perhaps colors meant to transcend eons
Reining the mortal human layer
