KATHMANDU, May 3: Alleging that local level poll candidates were picked unilaterally, Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel has expressed serious dissatisfaction with party president Sher Bahadur Deuba.

According to his close aides, Paudel also expressed dissatisfaction over the candidate nomination process as Deuba picked candidates from the Krishna Sitaula camp, while rejecting his own.

Paudel has alleged that Deuba had changed the nominations made by the district committee. Paudel has vented his ire against Deuba, claiming that Deuba had changed nomination of candidates that came from Dhading, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Chitwan districts.

Deuba, according to Paudel, changed the nomination of Tek Prasad Gurung made by the district committee and picked Dinesh Koirala belonging to the Sitaula camp in Chitwan.

Likewise, Deuba had unilaterally picked his loyal Chiri Kaji Maharjan, while ignoring the recommendation made by the district committee. "The president has moved ahead in a dictatorial manner," Paudel told media persons at NC headquarters in Sanepa.

Meanwhile, party cadres supporting Bhimsen Das Pradhan had chanted strong slogans at the party headquarters, alleging that Prakash Man Singh had unilaterally decided nomination of party candidates for the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. They had even beaten a party cadre Anil Shrestha, who is close to Singh.
