PATA experts submit report

KATHMANDU, June 22: Disaster management experts of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Andrew Jones and Bert Van Walbeek handed over reports and recommendations titled 'The PATA Nepal Rapid Recovery Task Force' to the members of Tourism Recovery Committee (TRC) Nepal amidst a function on Monday.

Ashok Pokharel, former president of PATA Nepal Chapter, received the report on behalf of TRC.According to PATA Nepal Chapter, the document will be the guidelines for TRC for the recovery of Nepali tourism industry.

PATA experts had handed over the report to Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Kripasur Sherpa on Sunday.

Speaking at the program, Walbeek, who has been playing integral role in recovery of Nepali tourism industry after the earthquake, said: "This is our recommendation based on several reports and assessments made by the stakeholders of Nepali tourism industry. To execute these recommendations with proper plans and strategies within next three months is the responsibility of stakeholders of Nepali tourism industry."

Similarly, Jones said PATA International will support Nepal in tourism recovery in every possible way.
