KATHMANDU, March 22: The party registration process has started from today for the by-election of members of the House of Representatives to be held on April 23.
The Election Commission (EC) in a notice on Tuesday requested to submit an application for party registration at the EC's Kantipath office in accordance with Schedule-12 of the Political Party Regulations 2074 BS from March 22 to March 26.
By-elections are being held on April 23 for the three vacant members of the House of Representatives. Rabi Lamichhane, who was elected from Chitwan 2, was dismissed by the Supreme Court in a case related to citizenship, and the constituency is lying vacant.
Similarly, two constituencies of federal parliament are lying vacant after senior leader of Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Paudel elected from Tanahun-2 was recently elected as President and JSP leader Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav elected from Bara-2 as Vice President from Bara-2. By-elections in these three constituencies are being held on April 23.
