Party members free to discuss:Rayamajhi

POKHARA, June 18: Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Minister for physical planning and works, speaking at a press meet organized at Pokhara Airport, on Saturday said that UCPN (Maoist) will not split under any circumstances.



He further said that despite various rumors, the Maoists are united. [break]



Blaming the media for sensationalizing healthy debates within the party and blowing the same out of proportion.



Talking about the secret meetings organized by the faction close to Vice-Chairman Mohan Baidya, he said that there is freedom in the party to express oneself. "Within the party there is freedom to discuss and express our opinions, no secret meetings are being organized but when meetings are held, it´s no secret but have been organized to chalk out future action plans," he said.



Rayamajhi also opined, "other parties hold separate meetings as well, but when Maoist do the same it creates a furor; we just want everyone to know that the party is still strong and together."



Rayamajhi also added that if there is national consensus within the parties, then Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal will resign.
