KATHMANDU, July 3: Member of the standing committee of CPN (Unified Socialist) Ramkumari Jhakri has said that the party has not sought any kind of clarification from her, and that the comments circulating on social media and in the news regarding this are baseless.
In a brief conversation with Republica, she said that she visited the party office on Thursday to submit a letter requesting an opportunity to clarify the concerns raised against her during the party’s secretariat meeting, only to discover no official letter seeking clarification.
While addressing a training session of the party’s youth wing in Butwal on June 28, Jhakri had raised concerns over former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal’s leadership, citing the corruption case filed against him.

“Legally and constitutionally, the party chair now faces a problem. Several leaders from other parties have faced similar issues too,” Jhakri had said. “We can't keep carrying carcasses on our shoulders.” She also called for an early general convention to change the leadership through democratic means.
Following her remarks toward party chair Nepal, the Unified Socialist party reportedly sought a clarification from Jhakri within three days.
The party’s Disciplinary Commission issued the notice on Wednesday, giving her a three-day deadline to respond, according to a party source.
“If she fails to respond within the given timeframe or if her explanation is unsatisfactory, she could face expulsion from the party,” the source said.
