Parties start forging alliance as second-phase polls approach

BIRATNAGAR, June 18: With the second-phase local level elections just 10 days away, main political parties have started forging an electoral alliance in Morang district.

BIRATNAGAR, June 18: With the second-phase local level elections just 10 days away, main political parties have started forging an electoral alliance in Morang district.


CPN(Maoist Center) and Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal(FSFN) have decided to forge an electoral alliance in four local units including Biratnagar Metropolitan City today.

As the two parties agreed, CPN(Maoist Center) will extend support to FSFN mayoral candidate Umesh Yadav whereas FSFN will help Maoist Center deputy mayoral candidate Namita Neupane win the election .


The remaining three local levels where the two parties will help each other in the local level elections slated for June 28 include Katahari Rural Municipality, Dhanpal Rural Municipality and Ratuwamai Municipality


Likewise, CPN-UML and Nepal Democratic Forum(NDF) led by Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar on Saturday also agreed to forge an electoral alliance in Biratnagar Metropolitan City of Morang district.


As per the agreement on the electoral alliance, NDF led by Gachchhadar will support UML mayoral candidate Binod Dhakal while CPN-UML will help NDF deputy mayoral candidate Suchi Chaudhari.


There are 1,12,000 voters in Biratnagar Metropolitan City.
