KATHMANDU, Aug 18: Women activists have staged a demonstration demanding a provision for death penalty against rapists at Maitighar Mandala in the capital on Saturday.
Partially naked activists wearing black petticoats staged protests shouting slogans, ‘Execute Rapists,’ in the demonstration led by Sabitri Subedi, a campaigner of Jayanari.

Aside from women activists, the participants also included third genders and males. Police have intervened in the demonstration and arrested some protestors including Jayanari campaigner Subedi, Riya Bhandari, third gender Sandhya Lama.
They staged a demonstration to pile pressure on the government to curb increasing cases of murders, violence and rapes in the country.
