Parliamentary meetings cancelled after death of senior NCP leader Adhikari

KATHMANDU, Mar 4: All parliamentary committee meetings including the scheduled meeting of the National Assembly (NA) were put off on Sunday following the demise of senior Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari on late Saturday evening.

KATHMANDU, Mar 4: All parliamentary committee meetings including the scheduled meeting of the National Assembly (NA) were put off on Sunday following the demise of senior Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari on late Saturday evening. The meeting of the upper house scheduled for 1 pm was cancelled by pasting a notice on Sunday morning. Similarly, the meetings of parliamentary committees on public hearings and international relations scheduled for 1 pm were cancelled. The meetings of Parliamentary Committees on State Affairs, Public Accounts, Women, and Industry, Commerce and Consumers' Welfare scheduled for 11 am were also cancelled on Sunday to mourn the death of senior NCP leader Adhikari, who was cremated in Pashupati Aryaghat Sunday afternoon.
