KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Parliamentary committee on Women, Children, Senior Citizens and Social Welfare is leaving for Kanchanpur on Wednesday for an onsite inspection in connection to the murder of Ram Dulari Rana.

The committee meeting held on Monday took this decision reasoning that the local authority and police administration did not abide by the direction to bring the facts on the murder of Ram Dulari. Committee Chairwoman Ranju Kumari Jha said, "We decided to reach the spot of the murder after the locals continued complaining about the incident."

The monitoring team will have Committee Chairwoman and five parliamentarians including three lawmakers from the region.

Rana, who was reported to have love affairs with a neighbour Prakash Malla, had disappeared from home since May 31. After four days, her dead body was found.

Later, Ram Dulari's father-in-law Padam Rana filed FIR against six members of Malla's family.

But, the locals have been complaining that the police administration was not serious on investigating the murder and finding facts on it. RSS
