KATHMANDU, Jan 3: The Development and Technology Committee under the House of Representatives has directed the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT) to submit an action plan within 30 days to make the internet service provided by the Nepal Telecom (NTC) more effective and qualitative.
The parliamentary panel also directed the NTC to make the upcoming project as expected by the people. “People have complained about the lack of effective service provided by the Nepal Telecom. In order to change that, the Committee has directed the government to make an action plan within 30 days to make the service more effective and qualitative,” President Kalyani Kumari Khadka of the parliamentary committee said.

Stating that the NTA had submitted a plan to establish 4G services in all local levels of the country in the last fiscal year, President Khadka asked, “When will the remaining 43 local levels have access to the internet service?”
Stating that the telecom sector has not been able to build necessary infrastructures, the parliamentary committee has the MoCIT to make necessary arrangements to provide quality service by providing skilled human resources.
Among other things, the parliamentary committee has directed the government to focus on the process of amending the rules in the interest of the organization.
