KATHMANDU, July 19: A team of parliamentarians visited the flood-hit areas of Kathmandu Valley on Friday.
Members of the State Affairs Committee (SAC) of the Parliament visited Kalanki, Balkhu and Kuleswor areas which were inundated due to floods in Balkhu River last week.
President of the SAC Shashi Shrestha said that the visit was aimed at identifying short-term and long-term measures to mitigate the impact of floods during the monsoon, and making necessary recommendations to the government in this connection.
The committee members will also visit other flood-affected areas in various parts of the country.
