KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The government has decided to table an "interpretative declaration' on Millennium Challenge Corporation(MCC) grant agreement.

A cabinet meeting held at the parliament building in New Baneshwar made a decision to ratify the MCC agreement along with the 'interpretative Declaration'.

The government has tabled the "Interpretative Declaration' in the parliament meeting that is currently underway to allay concerns shown by a section of lawmakers on MCC grant agreement. The voting process will begin after detailed discussion on the MCC grant agreement in parliament for its ratification.

Among other things, the "Interpretative Declaration' states that Nepal will not be part of any military alliance and the government will scrap the grant agreement if the provisions of the MCC grant agreement violate Nepal's domestic laws.
