The government is building the park near Ajitkot Rural Municipality under the Integrated Settlement Development Program, according to the Department Of Urban Development and Building Construction, Gorkha.

“The construction of the park has already started in the current fiscal year. Till now, more than 40 percent of the work has been completed,” said Suresh Khanal, chief of the department.

The contract to develop the park has been handed to New Dragon Construction Service. A temple, two stone spouts, a security guard post, a ticket counter, and a trail will be built in the park.

The construction of the infrastructures is in the initial stage, according to the department.

However, only a total of Rs 4 million has been allocated for the development of the park in this fiscal year.

“As the aim is to complete the project within two years, the remaining budget will be allocated in the next fiscal year,” said an official of the department.

After approval from the community forest and ministry, the construction of the park started in an area of 12 ropanis.

“The park will promote the tourism sector in the region. After its completion, tourists can spend more time in the region,” Khanal added.

Several tourist attractions such as Vachhek, Namki Home stay, Sirandada, honey hunting, Dudh Pokhari, Narad Pokhari, among others are in Ajirkot Rural Municipality.
