RAMECHHAP, Jan 21: Paradise Youth Club of Khimti has clinched the 2nd Ramechhap National Open Men's Volleyball Tournament defeating Himganga Village Development Committee on Friday.
In the summit clash held in district headquarters Manthali, Paradise registered straight sets victory of 25-16, 25-23, 25-20 over Himganga. Champion Paradise won a purse of Rs 150,000 while runner-up Himganga bagged Rs 75,000. Similarly, Namunadip Youth Club, Saipu and Loktantrik Khelkud Sangh were awarded with consolation prizes.
Loktantrik's Dharma Chaudhary was declared the best server of the tournament while Binod Chand of the same team was given the best defender award. Likewise, Paradise's Raj Kumar Thapa and Raju Shrestha were declared the best blocker and setter respectively while the best spiker's award went to Nabin Rijal of Namunadip. Himganga's Laban Gotamey was declared the best player of the tournament.
Ramechhap District Sports Committee hosted the tournament that started from January 17 and featured altogether 12 teams including 10 from the district and two from outside.
