PALPA, Jan 15: Palpa district has a total of 305 people living with HIV/AIDS, said Sewa Samaj, an organization working in Palpa for the welfare of HIV infected people.
The total number of HIV infected people (162 women and 143 men), 182 (80 men and 102 women) are taking antiretroviral drug regularly, the Samaj said.
Team leader of the Samaj, Lilaraj Bhattarai said HIV infected people are receiving counseling and assistance through the sample program being run by the Samaj in Kaseni and Gothadi VDCs.
Program coordinator of the Samaj Laxmi Kunwar said the society should change its perspective on treating HIV infected people while making it easier for them to come out in public. RSS
