Pakistan gifts two fully-equipped ambulances to TU Teaching Hospital

KATHMANDU, July 15: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu has donated two fully-equipped ambulances to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in Maharajgunj, on Wednesday.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Dr. Mazhar Javed handed over the ambulances to Executive Director of TUTH, Maharajgunj, Dr Rohit Kumar Pokhrel amidst a special function held on the occasion of the 38th Annual Day of the hospital on Wednesday. The event was attended by the senior diplomats of the Embassy and the top faculty of the TUTH.

Addressing the handover function, Executive Director Dr Pokhrel appreciated Pakistan’s support for the Hospital. He said that the ambulances gifted would symbolize the bonds of love between the two countries.

While recalling that the Embassy had gifted several ambulances to the hospital even in the past, Dr Pokharel expressed hope that such cooperation would continue in future too. He also appreciated the role of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) in providing post-graduate facilities to Nepali doctors.

Addressing the function, Ambassador Dr Javed said there was a large untapped potential existing between medical institutions in Pakistan and those in Nepal. He lauded the level of cooperation between the Nepali hospitals and Pakistani health infrastructure and wished this cooperation to grow further, especially with the Teaching Hospital.
