KATHMANDU, Sept 8: The Embassy of Pakistan held its Annual Alumni Get-Together on Sunday at Hotel Aloft, Kathmandu, to honor Nepali graduates from various Pakistani educational institutions.
The event recognized graduates who received scholarships under the Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme (PTAP) in fields such as MBBS, BDS, D. Pharmacy, and BS Engineering, as well as those who completed studies in other areas, including Mass Communication and Agriculture.

Bidya Bhattarai, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, attended as the Chief Guest. The gathering also included prominent academicians and social figures who have contributed to strengthening people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Nepal.
In her remarks, Minister Bhattarai praised the deep and warm friendship between Nepal and Pakistan and expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support to Nepal’s development, particularly in technical education. She thanked the Government of Pakistan for providing quality education to Nepali students at its esteemed institutions, highlighting their valuable contributions to Nepal's progress. She also expressed hope for continued support from Pakistan in the future.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, emphasized that the educational scholarships reflect the strong people-to-people ties between the two countries. He highlighted that Nepali students often form lifelong friendships and cherish positive memories from their time in Pakistan.
The ambassador assured the ongoing support for educational scholarships and efforts to facilitate student exchanges, including the recently introduced fee-free visa for easier travel to Pakistan.
