PADT starts selling goods offered to Pashupatinath to public

KATHMANDU, Oct 15: The sale of goods offered by devotees in Pashupatinath Temple has started. Pashupati Area Development Fund (PADT) has started selling jewelry, clothes and other goods offered by devotees at Pashupatinath Temple through its saleroom.

The PADT has started sales and distribution of these goods from the premises of PADT from October 9. Gauri Shankar Parajuli, Head of PADT, Conservation Division, said that 31 types of materials collected in the temple have been sold at fixed prices.

He said that the goods offered by the devotees will be registered as income in the counting room of the fund and the same materials will be sold through the saleroom.

Parajuli added that the price of Khaddar thick cloth is Rs 110, Khaddar small cloth is Rs 50, Shirt piece is Rs 100, Silk Ramnavami Khada is Rs 55, Kurta cloth is Rs 150, Cholo cloth is Rs 50, big furry handkerchief is Rs 110, and small furry handkerchief is set as Rs 45. “These materials are being sold with the aim of promoting the income of PADT,” he said.

Parajuli also said that various other publications including Shiva Mahapuran published by PADT were also sold. He also mentioned that it will be sold only while the stock lasts.

Parajuli said that the cash collected in the temple is deposited in the bank daily. He mentioned that the amount collected from the donation box will be deposited in Nepal Investment Bank, the amount of special worship will be deposited in SBI Bank and the amount collected from devotees coming from the third countries will be deposited in Sunrise Bank.

He also said that the salaries and service facilities of the Pashupatinath temple will be given to the priests and employees from the money collected in the fund.
