KATHMANDU, Feb 4: The provincial assembly meeting of Province 2 has started today in the Teachers’ Training Center at Janakpurdham. 

The meeting is likely to appoint PA members to conduct meetings until the elections for provincial speakers take place and form a Provincial Assembly Regulation Drafting Committee.  

Senior-most PA member Laganlal Chaudhary started the meeting by reading out a letter from the governor summoning the PA session. 

The meeting also observed a minute of silence commemorating martyrs and was followed by passing the interim work procedure of the PA.

The meeting will appoint a few PA members to conduct meetings in the absence of the speaker, one representative each from all parties in the assembly will be allowed to speak. The meeting will also form a Provincial Assembly Regulation Drafting Committee today.

According to Parliament Secretariat Joint-secretary Banshiraj Poudel, the next PA meeting will be held on February 12.
