SURKHET, Feb 18: Out of total 215 staffers deployed at seven ministries of Province 6, only 40 of them have attended the office so far. The absence of staffers has badly affected the operation of day-to-day work here.
According to Suresh Pradhan, chief secretary of the province, 13 other staff have not attended the office but are in touch while the others are out of contact. "We had received a notice from the Ministry of General Administration (MGA) informing us that the staff have already been mobilized to the provincial offices but most of them have still not reached here," said Pradhan, adding, "This has affected the daily work of the offices."
There is not even a single staff at the Physical Infrastructure and Development Ministry. "It's time to welcome the newly-appointed ministers but unfortunately, there are no staff at some of the ministries," said Pradhan.

Almost all the ministries of provincial government have been formed. Those who are attending the office are the staffers deployed at regional and district offices.
The government has Yagyaraj Bohora as secretary at the Chief Minister's Office, while other secretaries include Keshav Prasad Acharya (Internal Affairs and Law Ministry), Dhundi Prasad Niraula (Financial Affairs and Planning Ministry), Vidyanath Jha (Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment) and Shiva Narayan Chaudhary (Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operative). Likewise, Bhakta Bahadur Dhakal has been appointed as the secretary at the Ministry of Social Development.
In paper, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment has a total of 29 staff members but only eight of them are currently at the office. As the staffers deployed by the Ministry of General Administration (MGA) have not reached the office, preparations are underway to bring staff from the Regional Forest Directorate and Regional Forest Center, informed Secretary Bidhyanath Jha.
"But they will be returned back to their post as soon as the staff deployed by the MGA will reach here," said Jha.
Secretaries of each ministry are making efforts to ensure the staffers present themselves at the offices. "The building is ready but we have not been able to form the ministry in the absence of staffers," said Chief Secretary Pradhan. He further informed that MGA has been told to contact the absent staffers and send them to their respective work stations as soon as possible.
