Oscar International (College of Film Studies), established as the first college to teach film in Nepal, is going to hold a virtual film festival.
Oscar College to organize ‘Oscar Film Festival’
The three-day festival, which will be held on a virtual platform, will feature film screenings and interactions with local and foreign filmmakers, as per a press statement released by the college. Director and principal of the college Binod Poudel informed that the film festival is being organized with the intention of making the industry dynamic which is being sluggish due to the pandemic.
Quoting Poudel the press statement writes, “It is a time of self-assessment. The pandemic has given us time to reflect on our past, present and future, and we have come up with the concept of a virtual film festival so that we can talk about our strengths and weaknesses through academic debates.”
The festival, which runs from Friday to Sunday this week, will feature nine films made by Oscar College’s students and will also feature interactions on some important topics over the course of three days. All discussions and films can be watched live on the college's Facebook page and YouTube.
