KATHMANDU, May 23: Opposition parties are preparing to file a case against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) at the Supreme Court (SC).

Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist center), Madhav Nepal faction of UML, Upendra Yadav led-faction of JSP and Rastriya Janamorcha Party are preparing to file a case against the HoR dissolution at the apex court.

It has been reported that the lawmakers have been summoned at the federal parliament building with their citizenship cards.

Earlier on Saturday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari dissolved parliament and announced midterm election for November 12 and November 19 on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Oli.

The opposition party leaders and constitutional experts have been opposing the move of the government calling it ‘unconstitutional’ and ‘anti-democratic’.

A joint meeting of the opposition party held on Saturday decided to take legal and political actions against HoR dissolution.
