Onus lies on the govt whether to endorse MCC agreement through parliament: UML Chairman Oli

BIRATNAGAR, Dec 25: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the question of whether the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement will be passed through the parliament is in the hands of the government.

BIRATNAGAR, Dec 25: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the question of whether the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement will be passed through the parliament is in the hands of the government. 


Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Saturday, Chairman Oli also said that the main opposition party will make its views on the MCC public only after the government publicizes its view first. He also clarified that the CPN-UML will continue its obstruction in the parliament as their demands are not met.

Earlier, the UML had submitted a request to Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota of the House of Representatives (HoR) to take action against 14 lawmakers including Madhav Kumar Nepal. Chairman Oli said that he will not participate in any all-party meeting as long as the lawmakers whom his party had dismissed are present in parliament.
