PALPA, July 12: Only one-way traffic has been allowed on the Palpa-Butwal section of the Siddhartha highway after it was obstructed by a landslide triggered by incessant rain.
Continuous rain for three days triggered landslide near Siddhababa on Thursday evening and at Kerabari area today morning. The mudslide has deposited debris along with large boulders on the road, the District Police Office Palpa said.
Part of the landslide debris has been removed with the help of a bulldozer this morning and the road opened for one-way traffic, Deputy Superintendent Krishna Raj Sapkota said.
DSP Sapkota said the road would be opened for two-way traffic after some time as the work on removing the debris is in progress despite the relentless rain.
