Only agriculture industry is sustainable in Nepal: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, April 5: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that only agriculture-based industries will be sustainable in Nepal. He said that trying to open industries other than those based on agriculture will not be sustainable.

KATHMANDU, April 5: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that only agriculture-based industries will be sustainable in Nepal. He said that trying to open industries other than those based on agriculture will not be sustainable.


Addressing the first gathering of cooperative workers organized by the CPN (Maoist Center) in Kathmandu today,  Dahal said, “Only agriculture-based industry is sustainable in Nepal.”

He said that emphasis should be placed on agricultural production for economic prosperity. He said that agriculture will be given priority in this year's policies and programs as well.


In the program, deputy general secretary of CPN (Maoist Center) and former finance minister Janardan Sharma said that the party should focus on agricultural production by creating a production brigade like before.
