KATHMANDU, May 8: Only 433 out of the 753 local levels in the country have submitted particulars about vacant posts in their respective levels to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration within the deadline.
The Ministry had notified the local levels to send the particulars specifying the number and name of vacant posts to it by May 3. Bhupa Raj Baral, Joint Secretary at the Ministry, said that 320 local levels have not yet send the details about the vacant posts and they have been alerted to do so.
Government classifies local levels into four categories
According to him, the local levels submitting the particulars have send particulars of around 10,000 vacant posts. Baral added that the Ministry was updating the particulars regarding the vacant posts at local level that it has received so far.
The Ministry will send the particulars about the vacant posts at local levels to the Public Service Commission for filling up the vacant posts. Although the Ministry has carried out employee adjustment in 50,790 out of the 66,908 posts in the local level, there is still a shortfall of 16,118 employees.
The Ministry had adjusted 100 thousand 31 employees in the federation (centre), the state and local levels on April 7. RSS
