GAZA, Nov 13: Israeli ongoing airstrikes in the Gaza Strip resulted in the death of three Palestinians, and at least five others were wounded as reported by the Palestinian state agency Wafa Monday.

Mohammed Tatri, 27, and Mohammed Odeh, 22, were killed in the Israeli airstrikes that targeted the northern part of the Strip. Mohammed Nahal, 23, was killed in the eastern part of Rafah city, in the southern Strip.

Missile shrapnel, which targeted the eastern part of Deit Balah area and the northern part of the town of Beit Lahiya, injured at least five Palestinians.

Israel began carrying out the series of airstrikes Sunday night in various locations in the Gaza Strip.

A day after Israel’s blotched undercover operation resulted in the death of seven Palestinians and one Israeli military officer, Israel continued the air attacks on the enclaved strip.

Palestinians, in retaliation, fired rockets at Southern Israel. The occupying nation replied with more bombardment.

“In response to yesterday’s crime, the joint command of Palestinian factions announce the beginning of bombardment of the enemy’s settlements with scores of rockets,” Hamas’ armed wing said in a statement after funerals were held for the militants Monday.

According to Israeli Defense Forces, around 60 rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system out of 200 launched from Gaza. But most of the mostly locally-made rockets exploded in open areas.

No news of deaths from Israel has been reported yet, only some suffered injuries.

Israeli gunfire has killed more than 230 Palestinians in Gaza since the March of Return started on March 30 in demand of right to return to the homeland.

The latest attacks on the occupied territory for the past two days is considered to have setback the efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and the United Nations to broker a long-term ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
