KATHMANDU, June 1: A Bangladeshi citizen accused in the murder case of Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar has been arrested in Nepal.


A Bangladeshi citizen named Mohammad Siyam Hussain was arrested by Nepal Police at Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday, according to highly-placed police sources.

Bangladeshi MP Anar was assassinated on May 22 in Calcutta, India.


Reports indicate that some individuals from India have been arrested in connection with his murder, while other suspects remain at large. According to Indian media outlets, three people from Bangladesh and one from Calcutta have been arrested in connection with the murder.


The other four accused—Shaheen, Siam, Faizal, and Mustafizur—are still missing, while Mohammad Siam Hussain has been arrested in Nepal.
