PORTUGAL, April 8: A Nepali has drowned in the sea in Portugal, while another Nepali youth remains missing. Dhan Bahadur Tamang, 30, from Netrawati Dabjong Rural Municipality-5, Katunje, Dhading, drowned while exploring marine life in the sea at Montijo on Saturday night. Meanwhile, 38-year-old Tek Bahadur Tamang from the same area is yet to be found.
Gopal Yonjan, president of Tamang Samaj Portugal, stated that both individuals went missing on Saturday night. Dhan Bahadur's body was recovered from the sea by a rescue team on Sunday, while Tek Bahadur remains unaccounted for.

Accompanied by two other Nepalis, Dhan Bahadur and Tek Bahadur ventured into the sea to observe marine life. Yonjan mentioned that only Tek Bahadur's bag and bucket were recovered. Dhan Bahadur's body is currently held at Barreiro Hospital in Montijo for autopsy.
Prabal Bhattarai, secretary of the Montijo Nepali Society Portugal, reported that the authorities were promptly notified after both individuals went missing. Search efforts for Tek Bahadur have been ongoing since Saturday, employing various methods.
Dhan Bahadur arrived in Portugal last year via France for foreign employment, while Tek Bahadur, who arrived in Croatia four months ago, had been in Portugal for only 18 days. They are cousins and were living in Montijo.
