KATHMANDU, Aug 29: A pillion rider was killed while the motorcyclist sustained injuries in a bike accident at Tripureshwar in the capital on Monday afternoon.


 The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Bibek Barailee of Dhading, who was currently staying at Gurjudhara, Kathmandu.

Barailee, who was riding pillion, was seriously injured after a bus, Ba 3 Kha 4045, belonging to Dakshinkali Yatayat Pvt. Ltd., hit the motorbike, Ba 73 Ba 4309, at 12:30 pm,  ASI Ramhari Karki told Republica Online.


Both the bus and the motorbike were heading  for Tripureshwar from Kalimati direction. 


According to Karki, Barailee, who was rushed to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, breathed his last in the course of treatment. The condition of the motorcyclist is said to be normal. 


The Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati is investigating the case after taking bus driver Khambir Syantyang and the bus under control.
