BUTWAL, Dec 19: One person was killed while four others were injured in an electric rickshaw accident in Gulmi district.

The ill-fated Rickshaw (LU 1 HA 2743) met with an accident when it was on its way to Tamghas from  Charpala Ghumti of Durbar Rural Municipality at around 8 PM Friday. The Rickshaw plunged some 200 meters down the road at Bhangeri. 

The cause of the accident is not known.

The deceased has been identified as Tej Bahadur Rana, 30, the driver, from Resunga Municipality-12. Similarly, Suraj BK, Milan BK and Roshan Pariyar from Resunga Municipality-2 and Ramesh Khatri from Resunga-12 have sustained injuries in the accident. 

Police said two of them are currently undergoing treatment at District Hospital of Gulmi and one each at Lumbini Medical College in Palpa and Lumbini Provincial Hospital.

As many as six individuals had also lost their lives in a Jeep accident in the same district some three weeks ago. Road accidents are on the rise in Gulmi in recent months.
