KATHMANDU, Jan 23: A fugitive defendant, who was issued a red notice by INTERPOL in a case related to human trafficking and smuggling, has been arrested.
The arrested has been identified as Binoud Paudel, a resident of Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-2, Bardiya and resident of Tokha Municipality-3, Kathmandu.

He was arrested in Oman under the coordination of National Central Bureau (NCB) of Muscat. The accused was brought back to Nepal on Wednesday.
A red notice was issued against him by the INTERPOL General Secretariat on December 27, 2024 at the request of NCB Kathmandu to locate and arrest him internationally as he was absconding in connection with a human trafficking and smuggling case.
The INTERPOL branch of the Nepal Police Headquarters has stated that he has been handed over to the police deployed from Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau (AHTB) for legal action in accordance with the relevant offense.
