POKHARA, Oct 23: One person has died after being buried by the lump of snow along the Annapurna Trekking Route on Wednesday. Two others have sustained injuries during the incident.
According to Inspector Dipak Thapa at Police Station Bagar, the deceased has been identified as Sanjaya Khanal, aged 18, of Pokhara metropolis-5, Parsyang.

Nirajan Koirala, 20, of Pokhara-5, Parsyang and Santosh Bastola, 20, of Pokhara-11, Phoolbari were injured who were rescued and airlifted to Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara for further treatment. The injured duos are now out of danger, the hospital administration informed.
The trios who were on trekking at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) were engulfed in the snow erosion at around 11 am today. Khanal died on the spot.
The bad weather has prevented the authorities from bringing the dead body of Khanal to Pokhara.
According to Bidur Kuikel, chief at Ghandruk-based station of Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), the accident spot has been marked as a danger zone along the route which lies between Annapurna rural municipality-11 and base camp of the Mt. Machhapuchhre.
The incident took place when the youths left the regular route and ventured to the risky zone to take photos.
