Four-year-old succumbs to injuries in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT, Feb 27: Primary investigation shows that the truck’s driver, Parlahad Thapaliya from Nijgadh, Bara driving under the influence and lost control in a turn – thereby hitting the school bus and injuring nine, including six children.

RAUTAHAT, Feb 27: A four-year-old boy, Kalarin Rai succumbed to bus injuries early morning today. Rai, was one of the four school children who was critically injured in a school bus-truck collision on Tueday afternoon. Rai was studying in grade nursery at the Nepal Police School, Garuda-4.



“The other three critically injured students are out of danger,” the District Police Office, Rautahat said.  Those injured are undergoing treatment at Birgunj, according to Bhupendra Khatri, assistant sub-inspector at DPO, Rautahat.

The other injured students are Ayat Singh, Yuvraj Patel, Kritika Ranjan, Saugat Saru, Aryan Rastogi. Likewise, the school bus’s driver, Dambar BK, teachers Nirupa Karki and Ishwari Thapa and a police officer also sustained injuries. 


The school bus (Ba 1 Ga 2179) and the truck (Na 3 Kha 7418) collided head-on near to the petrol pump station at Garuda – 8 while overtaking in a turning.  The bus was heading to the school’s hostel at Garuda-8, Jingadiya carrying children from grade Lower Kindergarten (LKG) to nursery.
