LAHAN, Jan 25: A person was killed and over 20 people were injured in a bus accident that occurred on Friday morning in Kajarnha municipality of Siraha along the East-West Highway. 

The deceased has been identified as Deep Raj Yadav, 35, of Gadhimai municipality-4, Parsa. The passenger bus, Na 5 Kha 2588, belonging to the Om Laxmi Deluxe was heading toward Janakpur from Rajbiraj when it met with the accident at Bhulkiya as the driver lost control over the wheels, all of a sudden. 

Yadav who was critically injured in the accident died while undergoing treatment at the Phulkumari Mahato Memorial Hospital at Karjanha, the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya said. 

A total 25 people were injured in the incident. 

According to the bus passengers, the accident occurred after the driver lost control over the wheels of the bus due to high speed. Most of the passengers have sustained head injuries and they are receiving treatment at the Phul Kumari Memorial Hospital while one with serious injuries has been taken to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
