One arrested for character assassination thru social media

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Police have arrested Arjun Khadka, 24, of Dolakha Melung Rural Municipality on the charge of character assassination by using social media.

The police arrested him for getting to know the victim woman on social network Facebook and establishing a romantic relationship by talking to her on messenger, making obscene photos and videos of the relationship by having physical relations and sending them to the victim's friend's Facebook messenger, causing unnecessary pain and harassment to the victim, defaming the victim's character in society, defaming her and insulting her. 

The cyber bureau police from headquarters arrested him.

Necessary investigation is being done by the police after obtaining a 7-day permission from the District Court Kathmandu for the offense under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063.
