One arrested for attempted trafficking of teenager to India

He was arrested while attempting to cross the Krishnanagar border with the teenager, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Mani Adhikari.

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: A man has been arrested for attempting to lure a teenager and traffic her to India.

The police detained 25-year-old Shishir Tamang from Dupcheshwor Municipality-7, Nuwakot, for trying to take the teenager to India through the Krishna Nagar border in Kapilvastu.


According to the police, Tamang lured and deceived the teenager from Kathmandu with various promises, intending to traffic her to India. He was arrested while attempting to cross the Krishnanagar border with the teenager, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Mani Adhikari.


The authorities uncovered the plot when they questioned the teenager and Tamang at the border. The court has extended Tamang's remand, and further investigation is underway.
