BHAKTAPUR, Oct 1: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said his Ministry is launching 'one area one enterprise' campaign.

Speaking at an inaugural session of the two-day international conference of Nepali youths organized at Bode in Bhaktapur district Saturday, DPM Mahara shared that the government is coming up with such program to encourage youth entrepreneurs.

The conference is jointly organized by Youth and Sports Ministry, National Youth Council and Non-Resident Nepali Association.

He further said the preparation was underway to launch Vice-President Youth Empowerment Campaign to mobilize youths within the country and encourage them, adding that an arrangement of Challenge Fund amounting to Rs 1 billion has been made to encourage youth entrepreneurs.

The Finance Minister argued that failing to lead the country towards the path of economic prosperity was the main reason behind growing brain drain of youths.

The Conference should lay emphasis on developing a concrete concept for mobilizing youths in the country, DPM Mahara said, adding the event should design programs to attract migrated youths to country and providing employment opportunities to youths preventing them from brain drain.

Also speaking at the program, Minister for Youth and Sports, Daljit Shreepaili, said the government has come up with a policy for making youths entrepreneurs, saying there are 10.7 million youths at the age group 16-40 in the country.

As many as 300 Nepali youths residing in over 50 different countries across the globe are taking part in the Conference. RSS
