KATHMANDU, Feb 26: Resham Lal Chaudhary, the main person alleged in the Tikapur incident of August 24, 2015, surrendered to the Kailali District Court, according to sources of Provincial Police Headquarter.

Chaudhary, who had competed in the House of Representatives election from Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) had defeated Madan Kumari (Garima) Saha from the leftist alliance to secure his seat in the House of Representatives.

However, the Election Commission had denied giving Chaudhary his victory certificate through his lawyer. Chaudhary was at large following the Tikapur incident where eight police personnel and a child was killed.

A single bench of Justice Tanka Bahadur Moktan has upheld the writ the previous decision to refuse to register a writ petition demanding an apex court order to the Election Commission (EC) to issue victory certificate to Resham Chaudhary.
