Olympic torch on its way to Biratnagar

DHANGADI, Dec 21: A team of six former Olympians has left Dhangadhi for Biratnagar, where the Seventh National Games is starting from December 24, with the Olympic torch on Tuesday. The team comprising of former Olympians Bishnu Bahadur Singh, Jit Bahadur KC, Prabin Tuladhar, Krishna Bahadur Basnet, Tika Bahadur Bogati and Bimala Rana Magar will reach Biratnagar on Friday going through different cities of the country.

DHANGADI, Dec 21: A team of six former Olympians has left Dhangadhi for Biratnagar, where the Seventh National Games is starting from December 24, with the Olympic torch on Tuesday. The team comprising of former Olympians Bishnu Bahadur Singh, Jit Bahadur KC, Prabin Tuladhar, Krishna Bahadur Basnet, Tika Bahadur Bogati and Bimala Rana Magar will reach Biratnagar on Friday going through different cities of the country. 



Far-Western Regional Sports Development Committee President Dipak Saud bade farewell to the team at Dhangadhi stadium handing over the torch to former Olympian Bishnu Bahadur Singh. The Olympians' team with the torch marched around the city alongside local people, players, coaches and officials who had participated in the Sixth National Games held in Dhangadi in 2012. 



According to former Olympian Bishnu Bahadur Singh, the Olympic torch will be taken to cities of all development regions including Nepalgunj, Butwal, Hetauda and Dharan before reaching Biratnagar.
