KATHMANDU, April 15: Prime Minister KP Oli has said that the government will recover all the encroached public land at any cost under its anti-corruption drive in the country.

Addressing the nation on the occasion of the Nepali New Year on Sunday, Oli further claimed that his administration won’t tolerate the grabbing of public property.

The prime minister’s statement comes at a time when the general secretary of his own party has been accused of possessing encroached public land next to the official residence of the prime minister in Baluwatar. Republica had revealed last week that Bishnu Paudel, the general secretary of the ruling NCP owns 2738 square feet land in the Lalita Niwas area, which used to be government land until a few decades ago.

“All encroached public land will be recovered. The government will not tolerate grabbing of public land,” said Oli.

The government has formed a probe committee to investigate the 114 ropani land ownership transfer scam of Lalita Niwas.
