KATHMANDU, Jan 10: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba exchanged barbs in the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Tuesday.
In the HoR meeting on Tuesday, Oli and Deuba made barbed comments against each other over the dissolution of parliament by Oli in the past.
In yesterday's House of Representatives meeting, Oli defended his house dissolution move. In today's meeting, Deuba said that his attention had been drawn by Oli's statement that the HoR may be dissolved again. He said that now the challenge is to protect the constitution.
However, speaking in parliament on Tuesday Oli said, “I want to ask my friend, did you not dissolve parliament? I want to ask a question. Interpretation according to chance should not be done in politics”
He added, “I have seen what Sher Bahadurji has done in the past. Why should I be attacked for taking inspiration from you?"
Deuba dissolved parliament in 2002.
