KATHMANDU, May 6: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said that CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has no moral basis to ask for votes.

Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Friday, Thapa said that the ‘achievements’ made by different constituents of the Communist Party of Nepal in the last five years should be brought to light. He also accused the communists of running the government for five years “for which they should plead forgiveness from the public for wasting time.”

Thapa said that the responsibility of the governments at all levels for the next five years should be handed over to the NC. He also clarified that the party has the determination to build a prosperous Nepal and that it did not want to waste the next five years. He claimed that the NC would work to make up for the time wasted by the communists in the last five years.

Thapa claimed that the members who would win the local elections from the NC would not misuse their resources and authority.
