MORANG, Oct 8: Harka Maya Dangal, 75, of Dhakal Chowk in Pathari Sanischare-3 of Morang district was attacked and looted on Wednesday afternoon by an unidentified person.

The locals and family members saw Dangal bleeding from her face and body 200 meters away from the house at around 4:30 PM on Wednesday.

According to DSP Deepak Shrestha, Spokesperson for Morang Police, the attack may have been carried out with the intention of looting her gold jewelry. He said that she has sustained injuries to her eyes, forehead, nose, mouth and head and is undergoing treatment at Nobel Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar.

“She was unconscious when was brought in for treatment. She is on a ventilator and her condition is serious. We have intensified the search and investigation as the person involved in the incident has not been identified yet,” DSP Shrestha said.
