According to the Land Identification Taskforce appointed for this purpose, the storage facility will be constructed at Bidur Municipality – 5, Binubesi. The 95-ropani land under the District Coordination Committee is feasible for this purpose due to proper road connectivity and security facility according to director of the task force and joint secretary of the Ministry of Supplies, Laba Dev Joshi.

China had pledged to help Nepal construct fuel storage facilities at three different locations two years ago. Joshi stated that land is being searched for other storage facilities in four other districts including Gorkha, Tanahu, Lalitpur and Kavre. Joshi added, “The matter will be discussed during Prime Minister KP Oli's visit to China and the facilities will be able to store fuel for up to 3 months should any shortage of fuel hit the nation in the future.”
