Karnali Provincial assembly meeting disrupted again

A meeting of Karnali Provincial Assembly that resumed on Tuesday following a hiatus of two months has been hit again. Nepali Congress lawmakers disrupted the meeting saying that the government could not assign business and make a red book available to the parliament even four months after the budget was unveiled. No sooner had Rajbahadur Shahi, speaker of the provincial assembly, announced to commence the meeting, than Lawmaker Dinbandhu Shrestha demanded time to speak.

Second SA session of province 1 concludes

The second session of the assembly meeting of province 1 concluded today. In the concluding session, Speaker Pradeep Kumar Bhandari said the second session that kicked off on May 31 endorsed 12 bills and met for 58th times, spending 60 hours. In his address to the concluding session, province Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai said increased political understanding and awareness was there in the province and the sense of responsibility towards the people was high among the SA members.

Nepal secures fourth consecutive wins

Nepal has now won four consecutive matches in the ICC World T20 Asia Qualifiers B in Malaysia. In today’s match, Nepal defeated Bhutan by 118 runs. Nepali bowlers wrapped Bhutan for 33 runs in 16.4 overs. Batting first, Nepal had set a target of 150 runs at the loss of four wickets. Opening batsman Pradip Airee scored 75 runs in 68 balls.

Bulgarian TV journalist who covered EU corruption brutally murdered

A TV reporter who covered EU funds fraud cases was brutally murdered and allegedly raped in northern Bulgaria. The horrific indent is the third murder of a journalist in the EU amid concerns over press freedom. The body of Victoria Marinova, 30, who hosted a show on local TVN, was found dead on a popular jogging route near the Danube River in the city of Ruse on Saturday. The city has never seen such a brutal crime, according to experienced criminologists cited by local media. 

Google+ shutting down after data breach which was never revealed to users

Google is closing the Google+ social network after an error exposed the private data of hundreds of thousands of users last spring, in an incident which the company never disclosed to those affected. Google put the “final nail in the coffin” of the Google+ product by shutting down “all consumer functionality,” the Wall Street Journal reported citing an internal memo.
