KATHMANDU, May 10: The Election Commission (EC) has launched an election app with a view to circulating information received during the observation of the upcoming local-level election to a central level.
While launching the app developed in collaboration with the Election Observation Forum, EC Secretary Gopinath Mainali said, "Election observers are the third eye of the Election Commission."
He expressed his hope that the EC would get a right support from the observers in getting the right information in regard with election activities. "The EC is all committed to successfully holding the local-level election, the means of reaching the rights of Singha Durbar to people's doorsteps."
Secretary Mainali further said the local-level election was to bring the women, Dalit and marginalized faces to the local-governance that's why the election was inclusive.
On the occasion, Nepal Television executive chair Maheshraj Dahal, Local Development Training Center's executive director Jay Krishna Shrestha, News Club of Nepal's Chair Dhruba Mainali, Janata Media's proprietor Bishwa Bastola and Forum General Secretary Shobha Bhanadari insisted that election observers should fulfill their duty impartially to contribute to make the election free, fair and well-managed.
