KATHMANDU, Jan 14: The number of people getting vaccinated against COVID-19 has increased in Pokhara with the government making it mandatory to have vaccination cards to avail public service starting January 21.

The vaccination campaign is being conducted in Pokhara through various centers. According to Ashish Subedi, head of the vaccination center at Pokhara Metropolitan City, Ward 5, the number of vaccinators is more than 1,500 daily.

According to Subedi, shots of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine are being administered to those who hadn’t got any vaccine while Covishield and Verocell are being administered to those who have already got their first dose of the vaccine. Similarly, he added that there are more female vaccinators at the vaccine centers than males.

Subedi also said that those who refused to get vaccinated earlier are now coming for vaccination. As a lot of people are gathering to get the jabs, social distance as well as other necessary health standards are being properly maintained, he said.
