Number of Nepali nationals dying of COVID-19 in foreign countries rises to 293

KATHMANDU, Nov 15: The number of Nepali nationals dying of the novel coronavirus disease            (COVID-19) has risen to 293, the Non-resident Nepali Association (NRNA) said on Sunday.

According to NRNA, eight Nepalis living in Maharashtra and Chennai of India died of COVID-19 in the past one week.

As of Saturday evening, 45,439 Nepali nationals living in 44 countries across the world have been infected with coronavirus. "Of the infected Nepali nationals, around 41439 have been recovered," read a press statement issued by the NRNA, the umbrella organization of the Nepali nationals living in various countries.

In recent weeks, more Nepali nationals living in the United Kingdom, Spain, Austria, Germany, India, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have been infected with coronavirus.

The NRNA has urged fellow Nepali citizens to avoid gathering to stop the spread of COVID-19. It, too, has urged them to maintain social distance.
